It's not the debt they contracted from China that made the Kenyan government push for those harsh economic measures against their own people, but rather the debt they contracted from the IMF. Those measures were the conditions the IMF imposent on the Kenyan government for them to get the lawn: tax increase, public spending cuts, dismantling of labour union protections, public service salary freeze, privatization of public assets. A beg make you check and crosscheck your sources, you could reached out to Kenyan journalists before making this video.This matter has been discussed in economic newspapers for months on now.

One can borrow money from China but you have to use it efficiently so that the country investissement reimburse it. If government has to put on taxes to pay back the loan then I beleave the money was wasted and of course you still have to pay it back.
